SEAMEN'S CLUB - A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Pay attention! There are some crooks who pretend to be from Seamen's Club. They will ask you for money in various forms and then disappear. Ignore them or call the police. Seamen's Club representatives will never ask you for money.   If you use individual transport, look for authorized taxi cars only and pay attention to the fare.   If you have arrived in Constanța and, together with your colleagues, would like to go out to the city, call us at +40 723 000-555. We are waiting for you!   Do not exchange money except at authorized exchange centers!   If you are not European, you can use ONLY GATE 1 to exit and enter in the port.   If you are out in town, it is preferable not to be alone.   Do not buy alcoholic beverages to bring them into the harbor.

Seamen’s Club Le Havre – France

Le Havre’s Seamen’s Club operates on the ground floor of the Gens de Mer Hotel, which is probably also part of Mission to Seafarers. The hotel is open to the general public, but sailors receive discounts of 20% here.

The building is very close to the city center and is very well organized, maintained and equipped. The part that is dedicated exclusively to sailors is divided into several rooms and has a capacity of 50 people.

The club has a conference room - which can also be used as a chapel - and two other rooms, each intended for certain types of activities. In the large hall there are two ping pong tables and several computers that can be used for a fee of 1 euro per hour. Also, here are several armchairs and sofas where sailors can gather for a drink.

The smaller hall is, at the same time, the most popular. It has a family look and makes you feel welcome, but also proud that you belong to this beautiful community. The walls are full of souvenirs left by sailors over time and, unwittingly, you get carried away by the waves of the sea - with people you don't know and you'll never know - admiring photos and portraits drawn, badges, caps, banknotes from countries you have not yet stepped into. Sailors of different races and nationalities, gathered together on a concrete wall.

In the same room there are several tables, sofas and armchairs available for those who want wireless internet, a shelf with loan books, a TV and some musical instruments that are sometimes successfully tested by more skilled seafarers.

Volunteers also transport seafarers from the ship to the club and back, subject to availability and according to a well-established schedule.

No fee is charged for this service, but any donation is welcome.
